At Great Bear Vineyards we put care, passion and flair, into every aspect of our winemaking. We started our vineyard with the vision of producing exquisite wines to share with family and friends, and now we craft small lots to share with you. We limit our production below 2,,000 cases (100 barrels or wine) with several of our varieties produced in lots of 100 cases or less. Being a small vineyard and winery allows us to take meticulous care of each wine, tending to the finest details from the vineyard all the way to the bottle. 

Great Bear Vineyards wines have won Silver, Gold, & Double Gold medals at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the USA’s largest and most prestigious competition. In 2022, our Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded Double Gold in the “$90 and over” wine category. Wine Enthusiast Magazine has awarded our Chardonnay and Roussanne varietal wines 91 points, and our 2018 Grand reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 93 points. In addition, Great Bear Vineyards was voted “Best Local Winery” by Sacramento Magazine readers in 2020, 2021 and 2022!
